                             RESOLUTION NO. 19470
       
             
             
              A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF
              CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS NAMED HEREIN BELOW AS SPECIAL
              POLICEMEN FOR THE ERLANGER MEDICAL CENTER, TO DO
              SPECIAL DUTY AS PRESCRIBED HEREIN, SUBJECT TO
              CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

        	   BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
        CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Lee Roy Tate, Earl A. McCuiston,
        Melvin R. Lovelady, Kenneth L. Lee, James M. Hardeman, Darrel
        L. Gilbert and Gary Dantzler be and is hereby appointed as a
        special policemen for the Erlanger Medical Center, subject to
        certain conditions and restrictions:
        	   1.  That each said special policeman shall have,
        possess and exercise every power granted by the statutes of the
        State of Tennessee or the City of Chattanooga to regular police
        officers of the City of Chattanooga necessary in the
        performance of their duties.  Such powers and performance of
        duties by said special policeman are expressly limited to the
        performance of duties with the Erlanger Medical Center.
        	   2.  That each said special policeman shall not be
        considered an employee of the Department of Fire and Police,
        nor shall he be entitled to any benefits afforded regular
        police officers of the City, and shall in all respects be
        considered an employee of the Erlanger Medical Center.
        	   3.  That such appointment shall expire upon

        termination of said special policeman's employment by the
        Erlanger Medical Center.  Notwithstanding any other provision
        herein, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga shall have
        the right to cancel such appointment at any time.
